    Micro-current – What is it?

A micro-current facial is often referred to as a “natural” facelift. This safe and painless facial helps erase fine line and wrinkles, while firming your skin and defining your features. It improves muscle tone, reduces puffiness, increases cellular activity, and tightens pores. The overall result is a healthier and younger looking skin, no matter your age. Biological Micro-current is a kind of energy in the body; it can promote the cell to maintain normal metabolism and circulation. But when the cell is damaged or aged, the cell “membrane potential” will be out of balance. This will cause the cell to discontinue its normal working life and not maintain the normal metabolism and circulation. Micro-current simulation can reach into the cell tissue through the skin without any pain or discomfort and is hardly felt. It can reach the inside of the cell to help the damaged or old cell membrane to recover the balance, increase its metabolism, circulation and life.

Who its it for? What does it feel like? What are the anticipated results? Side Effect? How much is it and how long does it last? What is the recommended course of treatment for best results?

Micro-current facial is ideal for anyone who want to improve the appearance of their skin, whether they are more focused on an anti-aging or preventative treatment because it covers all the bases. It is safe and effective on all skin types and skin colors.Pregnant women and people with any kind of heart condition should avoid this treatment.
In the facial twin probes, electrodes and or wands may be used that deliver precise dosages of energy to the skin. As I methodically move them around your face, you may feel a slight tingling, energising sensation that is pleasant. You can expect all the other pleasures of a classic facial incorporated into this one, such as cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing and facial massage. It can take anywhere from 40 to 90 minutes depending on the areas. There is no downtime and you can immediately go about your day glowing like you’ve never glowed before.
You see results within minutes of getting the treatment – I break halfway thru the treatment for first time clients so they can compare one side or the face and view the results right away. After your first treatment, you’’ have firmer, glowing, more uplifted you. Your skin sill appear tightened and hydrated. Your jaw line will be more defined, your cheekbones more pronounce, and your eyes will look younger and refreshed.
Results are cumulative, so after a series of sessions, the improvements are many and longer lasting. For sustained results, the recommended course of treatment is a series of 10 to 15 within the first 4 to 6 weeks, followed by a 1 – 3 moth maintenance schedule. It all depends on your condition.

In search of the perfect brows, I have honed my brow designing skills – tweezing, waxing, trimming, tinting….  It doesn’t matter if you like them arched and feathered or straight and bold, eyebrows are the most important facial feature.

Many  aren’t satisfied with the ones they have, there are so many ways to update them, including brow gel, pencils, and even tattooing.  I never loved permanent makeup for brows because it looked so unnatural (fake) and hard (aging) and not fashionable (trying to hard).  But now there’s a very natural option that delivers semi-permanent results.  Introducing 3D Microblading.  Unlike the sometimes magic-marker drawn looking permanent makeup, Microblading is more of an embroidery of trompe l’oeil strokes that look just like real hairs.

    Microblading is ideal for :

    • define your brows
    • covering gaps
    • filling-in over plucked brows
    • adding more depth (appear thicker/fuller)
    • fully reconstructing

Those who just want to get that arch are also great candidates, and the results are a natural, undetectable fringe.

The meticulous process – what to expect:

A topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic.  You may experience slight discomfort, but it’s relatively painless.  A special microblading pen is used to draw on individual strokes one by one and takes about 2 hours to complete.

The results last for up to three years before beginning to fade. No downtime.  After a month,  a touch-up is recommended .  No special care is required, except for a brief touch up once a year.

Waking up with  perfect brows every morning cost’s $999 – but totally worth it!

How Much Water Do you Need?

You have heard stuff like  –  you need so many ounces of water for how many pounds you weigh and  you need 8 cups of water for every cup of coffee you have.  Does that make any sense to you?

Your water in take is based on  3  Factors:

    Environment    –    Activity –    Diet

If you live in the desert, you will need more water than if you lived in a forest where it is more humid.   That’s logical.

If  you have a bad diet, eat processed food and not enough fresh fruit and vegetables in their raw natural state, you will need more water.

If you run around and chase your kids all day you will need more water.  When you are working out vigirously you will need more water.  If you talk to people all day you will need more water.   These activities are dehydrateing folks.

If you drink Coffee or have Caffeine  –   Get rid of it.  Caffeine is a diuretic and robs your body of fluid and ruins your kidneys and shuts down your liver. And it will affect your body for 4 to 5 hours and give you headaches if you stop drinking it.  Does that sound like it’s good for you?

80 to 100 oz of water a day is an average for most and

If you leave in a dry climate  maybe you need 200 oz.

Come on people, drink, drink, drink!

What you should know before purchasing a Clarisonic

If you aren’t using a Clarisonic face brush already, chances are you’ll get one for the holidays. If you are thinking of purchasing one, please continue reading and then decide if it’s for you.

1 Clarisonics are good for clearing up clogged pores – Just not all clogged pores. If you have a tendency to get white heads or are trying to clear your acne, the bristles can further inflame the skin and spread bacteria. And overuse can even create milia, those white bumps(fatty deposits) under the eyes that refuse to budge. However, if black heads are your curse, then step right this way: The oscillating sonic movement loosens up the oxidized pigment and may allow for better penetration of your cleansers and treatments following.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   2 There’s no need to grind it into your face like you’re waxing a car. The sonic vibrations are what loosen dirt and oil. It’s should barely touch the skin. Otherwise you could irritate your skin.
3 Dont Overuse it. It has a timer. Don’t go over that and if you are sensitive, use the sensitive brush. Begin by using it once or twice a week and if there’s no irritation, you can work up to using once daily max.
4 Remove your makeup first. The sonic vibrations help active ingredients penetrate deep into the skin, so you don’t want makeup and the day’s dirt and toxins. Use a makeup remover first and then it’s best to use a cleanser with active ingredients suited for you skin type and condition with the Clarisonic. A first pass with a makeup-removing wipe or cream/oil cleanser for more stubborn makeup may be in order.
More importantly, the Clarisonic is a cleaning tool, it ENHANCES cleaning – don’t look for it to solve your skin conditions, but enhance what good skin care regimen you already have in place. It is not an end all be all solution.

    The Liver and Your Skin

Anything that gets on the skin immediately affects the liver. Taking a shower or a bath is actually a simple technique for washing of the liver. When you rise in the morning, you are washing your liver and jump starting your immune system. If you have insomnia (a liver issue) and take a shower prior to bed, you usually sleep better. Washing draws toxins out from your liver that might keep you awake.
And let’s not forget that using fragrance is toxic to the liver. So don’t pile on the cologne, let your skin breathe!

New Year, New You – Great Skin in 30 days

Over the holiday season many of us eat all the wrong foods, don’t get enough sleep and party a little too hard. It’s no wonder our complexion is worn and lack luster. The way to get your glow back is to begin the right skin-care routine and add in some instant results with some professional services. You can begin to see improvements like tighter, smoother skin in just a couple of days and in about 30 days you can look 10 years younger! Get going with these some of my tips.

The skin around your eyes is the thinnest and ages first. It will show tell-tale signs of fatigue, sleepless nights and dehydration first. Get your lids looking younger with twice-daily use of one of these great eye creams, had picked by me for results. Ilike’s Age Defense Bioflavonoid Eye Cream ($68) contains antioxidant boosting nutrients from organic plant & herbs that improves skin tone, and promotes firmness and elasticity while preventing more aging. Cosmedix Opti Crystal, Chirally Correct Eye Serum ($90) provides deep hydration and radically reduces the look of dark circles, fine lines and crow’s feet.
Applying the correct moisturizer for your skin condition twice a day is by far the most crucial if you want to maintain healthy looking skin. Make your morning routine a little less chaotic with a day cream that contains physical sunscreen that does not clog your pores or irritate your skin, like Cosmedix Hydrate + ($42). Wintertime means ski vacations or quick beach getaways where you get a lot of sun that causes brown discoloration like melasma and thinning of the dermis. Before going to bed, apply a rich, soothing cram with regenerative benefits like Ilike’s Rich Antioxidant Grape Moisturizer ($60) Contains Organic Grapeseed which highly nourishes and regenerates the skin.
To target the big issues like hyperpigmentation, sagginess, and stubborn wrinkles, add a serum. Serums deliver high concentrations of antiaging ingredients directly into the skin, and they absorb faster than a cream form. Follow up with your SPF day cream. To lighten and erase brown spots and discoloration, Cosmedix Lightning ($48) For firming and plumping out fine lines and wrinkles, Ilike antioxidant grapesseed serum ($94).
If you don’t already use a retinoid product in your skincare regimen, purchase one immediately. Retinoids are the gold standard when it come to evening your tone and texture, reversing sun damage, shrinking pores, getting rid of acne and reducing wrinkles and you can see benefits in 7 days. I stay away from prescription retinoids, they cause irritation and unnecessary trauma to the skin. For maximum benefits with less sensitivity, apply a chiral retinoid like Cosmedix Serum 16 ($78) in the evening before your night cream every 1-3 nights, as tolerated, working up to nighty use. Daily sunscreen is mandatory.
Women in the know are buzzing about Microcurrent Facial Treatments, a painfree, non-invasive, virtual face lift and rejuvenator. This technology uses micro amperes of electrical current that mimics your own natural body’s electrical current to build collagen and elastin by 500%, firm and lift tissue and muscle as well as heal skin conditions like melasma, acne and dermatitis. Lift and plump your skin in your face and neck, with results after just one session. There is no downtime, the treatment increases blood flow, detoxifies impurities, smooths and rejuvenates the skin, increases production penetration. I have clients that come in right before an important event to immediately lift the skin and restore their glow.
The results are cumulative, you can look 10 years younger with a series of 10 to 12 treatments (40 minutes each) spaced 4 to 5 days apart for optimal results. And while the treatment is safe for all skin types, people under 65 respond the best. Monthly maintenance treatments are advised. Prices range from $200 for a Life Enhancing Facial Treatment to $1800 for a series of 10 to 12 treatments.

    Season of Beauty, Aging Gracefully!

As we cultivate our life, our beauty becomes as much about what we are creating and doing as it is about our appearance.

We tend to associate youth with beauty, but the truth is that beauty transcends every age. Just as a deciduous tree is stunning in all its stages from its full leafy green in the summer to its naked skeleton during winter and everything in between. Human beings are beautiful throughout their life spans.

The early years of our lives tend to be about learning and experiencing as much as we possibly can. We move through the world like sponges, absorbing the ideas of other people and the world. Like a tree in spring, we are waking up to the world. In this youthful phase of life, our physical strength, youth, and beauty help open doors and attract attention. Gradually, we begin to use the information we have gathered to form ideas and opinions of our own. As we cultivate our philosophy about life, our beauty becomes as much about what we are saying, doing, and creating as it is about our appearance. Like a tree in summer, we become full, expressive, beautiful, and productive.

When the time comes for us to let go of the creations of our middle lives, we are like a tree in autumn dropping leaves, as we release our past attachments and preparing for a new phase of growth. The children move on, and careers shift or end. The lines on our faces, the stretch marks, and the grey hairs are beautiful testaments to the fullness of our experience. In the winter of our lives, we become stripped down to our essence like a tree. We may become more radiant than ever at this stage, because our inner light shines brighter through our eyes as time passes. Beauty at this age comes from the very core of our being our essence. This essence is a reminder that there is nothing to fear in growing older and that there is a kind of beauty that comes only after one has spent many years on earth.

    Weight Loss and the Liver

Weight loss  has been a mystery since man became physically and socially aware.  The liver must wash the body free of waste.  When the liver is impaired or running slow, it will not be able to flush waste out of the system.  Efficient liver functions is paramount to wash toxins and fat from the structure of the body.

Fruits & Vegetables that are amazing liver support:

Blueberries, carrots, oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, lemons, limes, onion, garlic, broccoli, asparagus, red cabbage, cauliflower, green beans, tomatoes. bell peppers, romaine lettuce, apples, beets, arugula, avocado, blackberries, raspberries, ginger, radishes and strawberries.

These foods practically perform miracles if eaten fresh (raw).

It’s Summer which means it is the season…

It’s Summer, which means it is the season for waxing. It’s time to shed dry winter skin and be smooth and hair free. You want to look good in your cool cut off shorts, mini skirt and sexy bikini.
Waxing is still the most popular method of temporary hair removal after shaving, and it is still one of the most requested spa services.
What makes waxing so popular? Here are the top benefits of waxing .
    1. Waxing lasts six to eight weeks, as the hair is removed at the root.
    2. Hair regrowth after waxing is often softer, as the tip of hair has a finer tapered point, unlike the stubbly tip of shaved hair.
    3. Reduced growth is a side benefit of waxing. When body hair is regularly removed at the root, the result is damaged and weakened roots and some diminished growth, especially for women reaching menopause.
    4. Waxing produces soft, smooth skin, as it exfoliates dead skin cells, along with the hair, therefore allowing a better absorption of sunscreen and sunless tanning products and moisturizing lotions.
    5. Waxing is affordable for those who do no have the budget for the more permanent methods of laser hair removal and electrolysis, waxing by a professional effectively removes unwanted hair in hard-to-reach areas for long-lasting results, without breaking the bank.
    6. A day after waxing is a great time to apply sunless tanning lotion, hair reducing lotions and sunscreens.
